“I don’t think I heard a single kid say “I’m bored”. I was struck by the sound - with nearly 80 kids at its peak, instead of hearing the shrieks and fighting you often hear in a traditional playground, there was a loud and steady hum of kids talking, shouting, and laughing together. ”
OUR COMMUNITY
Interested in developing plans for your own community adventure playground? Let us bring the play to you!
We recommended a pop-up play day to start. Schools, street fairs, community centers and public parks - all are great spaces to inject self-directed play. These events provide young people with the opportunity to use their imaginations to build and create through loose parts play. Supported by our playworkers, children will make their own decisions on how to use materials, space, and time. Our playworkers will work with you to introduce the concept of self-directed play to your community.
Our pop-ups utilize found and recycled materials, including cardboard boxes, wooden planks, pvc piping, fabric, markers, string, tape, and more. You gather materials (we’ll give you some suggestions) and we bring the skills to make it successful. For an additional fee, we can help source and transport materials.
