SUPPORT Us

At play:groundNYC, we want to see a city, transformed through play, that is open and accessible to everyone. With generous donors like you, we are able to welcome thousands of kids annually at our flagship, The Yard, for free. Your support also helps us offer financial aid for Summer Camp, Mini Camps, and our Adventure Play Club. Outside of The Yard, your gift will ensure we can continue to organize free play pop-ups across the city (they are so fun!) to help the city reimagine public space. Donations also support our in-school programming and the training sessions we are able to offer to teachers and caregivers so that more children in NYC can experience the joy of play. THANK YOU for joining us.

We also accept checks made payable to play:groundNYC and sent to:
play:groundNYC 33 Park Pl #350, New York, NY 10007

Cash donations can be made at any visit to The Yard.

your support helps us plan

Since then its establishment in 2016, play:groundNYC has welcomed thousands of children across the city and at The Yard on Governors Island. Young people have filled the grounds with their energy, imagination, exploration, dreams and emotions; they have grown up alongside play:groundNYC. Outside The Yard, play:groundNYC serves its mission with year-round pop-ups, an annual playworker training, and occasional partnerships with organizations, including its first long-term school program in 2021. Its operations are supported by a non-profit organizational structure, stewarded by a Board of Trustees.

As play:groundNYC celebrates its 6th anniversary, it is publishing its first strategic plan. This step aims to recognize the work done so far, take stock of the current status, act as a guide for decision-making, and establish goals to stabilize and grow the organization.
