Supporting PLAY FOR NYC SCHOOL STUDents

The experiences, from school visits to the field trips, were even better than we imagined. Thank you so much.

Field Trips AT THE YARD

A field trip to The Yard is facilitated by playworkers who support children in their play with loose parts materials, building structures and independent activities. These school visits, which run two hours in length, let students design their own outcomes in an environment that is meant for exploration, experimentation and contemplation.

In-School Programs

Play is not frivolous - and it can support mental health, physical health, wellness, sustainability, climate action, and learning for your community of students. Get in touch to discuss bringing more and better play to the children in your care. We look forward to hearing from you!

play:groundNYC’s leadership listened carefully to our needs and worked with us to design a recess program that would work within our available play spaces. Using thoughtfully selected junkyard items, building materials, costume elements and much more, their trained playworkers helped transform our recess yard and school garden into magical realms of possibility for our students.
